The Columbus Hungry Turkey is a beloved Thanksgiving tradition. We are excited to announce that the Columbus Hungry Turkey has come together with Thanksgiving runs from around the nation to from a multi-city virtual running festival called the Hungry Turkey Half Marathon, 10K & 5K. Instead of having a mass gathering event, runners can race the course on their own or run virtually anywhere on a date of their choosing between Thanksgiving Day – November 29th.
Here’s how it works:
1. Register for the Hungry Turkey Half Marathon, 10K & 5K and and to run the distance on your own favorite course
2. Get your commemorative event gear mailed straight to your door and select a day from Thanksgiving Day – November 29th to conquer your half marathon, 10k, or 5K on your own. Be sure to print your race bib before heading out on your run!
3. When you go out for your run, be sure to use your favorite tracking app or watch to keep track of your finish time.
4. After completing your distance on your own, submit your results to the leader board and print off your finisher certificate.
WHAT YOU GET
Each participant receives a long sleeved quarter zip, online results, digital bib and digital finisher certificate. Medal is available as an add-on during registration.

They Annually adopt over 1200 homeless animals. in alignment with their core philosophy of helping unwanted animals in their community, the HSDC medical clinic performed 1933 spay/neuter surgeries. The HSDC strives to ensure the best possible treatment, care and placement of animals in need.

Sign up to participate as a volunteer
Join in the excitement as a volunteer. All volunteers receive a free event shirt for volunteering. Volunteers will help at water stations, participant check-in, course marshaling and many other places.
If you can’t find your volunteer confirmation e-mail, which is sent 2 weeks prior to the event, please contact us at 224-757-5425 or the e-mail address below. Or simply meet at the volunteer check-in located at the start/finish line on event day at 7:15 a.m.

Need help with your registration? Race Transfer? Change your t-shirt size? Bib exchange? etc. Click here.
This event is chip timed. Your “chip” is integrated with your bib. You must wear your bib on your front across your stomach to be electronically timed.
Runners and walkers can participate in this event as long as the participant can finish within the event time limit, see the schedule above.
If you ordered your race packet to be mailed to you, it will typically arrive 1-4 days before the event. It will be sent to the address you entered during registration. If your package does not arrive before the event day, please come to event day packet pick up where you will be re-assigned your bib and gear.
Participant gear must be picked up at pre-event packet pick up or on the event day. If you do not pick up your participant gear there will be a fee to have it mailed to you: Post-race event gear registration
All participants are required to read and sign the event waiver form.
Like most live sporting events, this ticket/registration is non-refundable.
It is the participant’s responsibility to make sure that they do not impair their ability to hear, see, sense, and detect present or potential hazards and dangers.
If at any time you are in need of assistance throughout the event please notify a volunteer or course monitor.
No dogs. Strollers are allowed for walkers & joggers only, must start in the back of the starting corral and the parent/guardian must sign a waiver on behalf of their child(ren) in the stroller.
The event will start rain, snow or shine. The event could be delayed due to lightning or other dangerous conditions. The above schedule is weather dependent. Trail conditions could be variable.
You can transfer to a different distance within the same race up to 3 days before the event. If you are transferring to a more expensive race you’ll have to pay the difference of the registration fees.
You can transfer your registration/bib # to another participant for $6 up to 3 days before the event.
You can defer your registration to next year’s race or any other OhioRuns.com’s race for $6 up to 17 days before the event. After that, you can still defer for $15 until the day prior to packet pick up. All deferment requests must be sent via e-mail and please include your name, the event your currently in and which event you would like to defer into.
You can manage your event shirt size and any other add-ons up to 10 days before the event.

It is the participant’s responsibility to make sure that they do not impair their ability to hear, see, sense, and detect present or potential hazards and dangers.
If at any time you are in need of assistance throughout the event please notify a volunteer or course monitor.
No dogs. Strollers are allowed for walkers & joggers only, must start in the back of the starting corral and the parent/guardian must sign a waiver on behalf of their child(ren) in the stroller.
The event will start rain, snow or shine. The event could be delayed due to lightning or other dangerous conditions. The above schedule is weather dependent. Trail conditions could be variable.
You can transfer to a different distance within the same race up to 3 days before the event. If you are transferring to a more expensive race you’ll have to pay the difference of the registration fees.
You can transfer your registration/bib # to another participant for $6 up to 3 days before the event.
You can defer your registration to next year’s race or any other OhioRuns.com’s race for $6 up to 17 days before the event. After that, you can still defer for $15 until the day prior to packet pick up. All deferment requests must be sent via e-mail and please include your name, the event your currently in and which event you would like to defer into.
You can manage your event shirt size and any other add-ons up to 10 days before the event.

Now, in addition to running with everyone at your local event you will be able to come together with runners from around the country in the World’s Largest Thanksgiving running festival:

Join in the excitement as a volunteer. All volunteers receive a free event shirt for volunteering. Volunteers will help at water stations, participant check-in, course marshaling and many other places.
If you can’t find your volunteer confirmation e-mail, which is sent 2 weeks prior to the event, please contact us at 224-757-5425 or the e-mail address below. Or simply meet at the volunteer check-in located at the start/finish line on event day at 7:15 a.m.

This event is chip timed. Your “chip” is integrated with your bib. You must wear your bib on your front across your stomach to be electronically timed.
Runners and walkers can participate in this event as long as the participant can finish within the event time limit, see the schedule above.
