YWCA Dayton is Dayton’s oldest women’s social services organization, supporting women in need to be safe and independent since 1870. We are On a Mission to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.
We stand up for social justice, help families, and strengthen communities by:
• Operating the only domestic violence shelters in Montgomery and Preble counties (including our area’s longest-running 24/7 crisis hotline and clinical services for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault)
• Providing supportive housing and economic empowerment services for single women and families transitioning out of abuse
• Offering Girls LEAD! (Leadership Education Activism Development), a signature in-school and summertime leadership and emotional wellness development program.
• Advocating for racial justice, social justice, and the voices and needs of the women and children we serve, from local public policy to federal legislation, with a particular focus on the intersectionality of race and gender.
Your support ensures a safe, secure, successful future for hundreds of women and children across the Miami Valley every day — and ensures this support remains for years to come. Thank you!

Girls on the Run Dayton
At Girls on the Run we inspire girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind. Trained coaches lead small teams through our research-based curricula which includes dynamic discussions, activities and running games. Over the course of the ten-week program, girls in 3rd-8th grade develop essential skills to help them navigate their worlds and establish a lifetime appreciation for health and fitness. The program culminates with girls positively impacting their communities through a service project and being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K event.
