YWCA’s strategic framework is the culmination of consultation and exploration with YWCAs across the country and reflects our legacy as a pioneering organization that squarely confronts social justice issues to make lasting, meaningful change. The focus areas below guide our organization’s collective efforts at the national and local levels, with each YWCA association tailoring its approach to meet their community’s needs.
Both courses start and finish on the Welcome Stadium Track and then run on streets and paved paths along the Dayton riverfront.

PARKING: On-site parking available at the stadium. Due to Edwin C. Moses Blvd. being part of the course route. This road will close down approximately 15 minutes before the race begins. Please arrive before then.
There will be pacers to help you achieve your goal time. Pacers will be at the start holding a sign of the pace they will be consistently running. Run with these pacers and they will help keep you on track to achieve your goal. That’s right, these pacers are dedicated to helping lead you to one of the goal times listed below:

2019 National Leader Board Results Results from all the American Turkey Tradition races will be aggregated into one results page where you can see how compared to over 50,000 runners from around the country.
Join in the excitement as a volunteer. All volunteers receive a free event shirt for volunteering. Volunteers will help at water stations, participant check-in, course marshaling and many other places.

You can transfer to RUN A DIFFERENT DISTANCE within the same race up to 3 days before the run. If you are transferring to a more expensive race you’ll have to pay the difference of the registration fees. This can be managed on your Run Sign Up profile.
You can DEFER/TRANSFER YOUR REGISTRATION to next year’s race or any other All Community Events race for $15 up to 3 days before the run. This can be managed on your Run Sign Up profile.
You can CHANGE YOUR SHIRT SIZE and any other add-ons up to 3 days before the race day. This can be managed on your Run Sign Up profile.
You can transfer your registration/bib # to another participant for $6 up to 3 days before the run. This can be managed on your Run Sign Up profile.

All WATER STATIONS include water and Half Marathon water stations include water and sports drink.
There will be no GEAR CHECK on the event site.
If you ordered your RACE PACKET TO BE MAILED TO YOU or signed up for the virtual run, your gear will typically arrive 1 – 4 days before the race day. It will be sent to the address you entered in during registration. If your package does not arrive before the race day, please come to packet pick up or the race site where you will be re-assigned your bib and gear.
Participant gear must be picked up at pre-packet pickup or mailed to you. If you do not pick up your participant gear there will be a fee to have it mailed to you.Post-race shirt request link.
Headphones/iPod/mp3 devices are allowed, though are strongly not recommended. It is the participant’s responsibility to make sure that they do not impair their ability to hear and detect present or potential hazards and dangers.
Runners and walkers can participate in this race. See the schedule above for the time limit.
If at any time you are in need of assistance throughout the run please notify a volunteer or course monitor.
All participants are required to sign an online waiver.
No Dogs. Strollers are allowed for walkers & joggers only and the parent/guardian must sign a waiver on behalf of their child(ren) in the stroller.
This run will be chip timed. Participants wear a timing chip integrated with their bib number that starts their individual time when they cross the start line and stops it when they cross the finish line.
The run will start rain, snow or shine. The run could be delayed due to lightning or other dangerous conditions. The above schedule is weather-dependent.
The Dayton Turkey Trot is part of the Thankful Turkey Half Marathon & 5K. This means on top of being part of the LIVE Dayton Turkey Trot, your results will also be entered into USA’s largest virtual Turkey Trot: The Thankful Turkey. In addition to running with everyone live at your local event, you will also be able virtually to come together with over 50,000 runners and walkers from around the country. See how you stack up on the National leader board and use the hashtag #ThankfulTurkeyRunto share your photos with other Thankful Turkeys!
